Relocating with Kids

My husband and I may have the option of moving to Santo Domingo this fall for several years. We have four kids between the ages of 3 and 9. I'm sure there are people in a variety of situations, depending on the location, but I would love to know the names of some areas of the city with safe communities where there may be more children than others, and where there are good schools and places to visit within walking distance or a short drive. Please help! Would love to gather some info on areas and prices so that we can make a better informed decision.
