Texan to Move

My wife and I visited PC last month. We enjoyed the resort, and I realize resort life is not island life. So my son and I toured around a bit in a rental and we both feel this can be the place (we have spent the last four years traveling to different islands, trying to get a feel for our retirement years).

Anyhow, The funds are in place, and we are awaiting the pieces to fall into place. We have a business in Texas that we enjoy, and will eventually shut down, but it has not been bad enough to "throw it all in"

So, Where is certainly a question, and How is particularly important as well. It is the "Who" that I would like to explore, specifically making sure that I do not get hosed on those initial purchases (car, home, etc.)

I figured having a barrister locally would be the best, but I do not want to just sniff one out on the internet via google. So if anyone has any information on who can help "pull" us to the island rather than have us "push" our way in, that would be wonderful. I realize I am going to have to pay (grease some palms, taxes, whatever you want to call it) and I want it to be an easy experience with very few surprises.

[I know, I just painted a utopia picture that will be difficult if not impossible]

This is my first post here, so go easy on me.

Regards
WJ
