What were some things you wished you had learned prior to moving to the DR?

Did anyone use shipping containers to move their stuff down? If so, then how did you get those containers emptied and to your place of residence? Are their trustworthy moving companies in the DR? Who?

Is it difficult to register a vehicle from a foreign country in the DR? Motorcycle? Jeep?
