Hi to all of you who are either living in or due to live in Algeria. I am a 34 year old British girl, married to an Algerian guy and due to emigrate to Algeria in 6 weeks time. I have been visiting regularly over the past 2 years and love the country and it's people. There has been quite alot of negative comments on this website and although I appreciate that there are a number of things which take a while to get used to, if you embrace the experiences you find yourself in, it can be an extremely rewarding time. Frustrations regarding getting things done have taught me to be less impatient, my 'control-freak' tendancies have been subdued and I am really excited about the opportunity of learning as much about myself as Algeria when I am finally settled. Don't try to maintain your homeland life in this country, obtaining peanut butter is not the be-all and end-all of life! Embrace Algerian ones and enjoy!!! Learn new languages, cultures, ideas and recipes. My mother-in-law certainly knows how to get the taste buds watering!!!
