Relocating to Melbourne

Hi
My family and I are relocating to Melbourne or the Melbourne area.

Around 6 years me and my wife travelled Australia and settled for a year in Sandringham Vic, and we loved it.
A few years on and 2 children In tow we’ve decided that now is the time to return.

I’m just looking for a bit of advice of where would be best for us to bring up our children, I’m a carpenter and the main income whereas my wife will work part time.

I understand that Sandringham area may we’ll be out of our price range now, but we’re ok with moving a little distance away from the city as neither of us have a real need to access the CBD daily, but would would ideally like to be close to the water.
