Maybe Moving to Vienna - Many Questions

My husband is interviewing for a position at the UN in a few weeks. We have so many questions!

1. Schools. Our twins will be entering 7th grade. Are their waiting lists for the three main schools (VIS, DIS, AIS)? Would you please share your experience with any of these schools.

2. Housing. We are leaning toward living in the 22nd district if our children go to VIS. Do you have other suggestions? What can we expect in the way of housing? Should we bring all of our furniture or will we be able to find things there we can afford? How big are the apartments? How much can we expect to pay. We are a family of four used to living in 2300 sq ft! We can adapt - but want to know how much we will have to :)

3. Has anyone ever brought their pet birds with them? What is involved? I can only find information on dogs and cats. We are trying to find out if quarantine will be required.

4. Groceries! What kind of things should we stock to bring with us that we will have difficulty finding there? How do the prices/availability compare to the US?

Is anyone willing to e-mail me personally to help answer future questions should he be offered and accept the position?

TIA!
