Moving from NYC to Nassau

Hello everyone,
I am new to the site but looks like a great resource. My wife and I will be moving to Nassau in July 2012. She is born and raised in Nassau but I am an American. I was looking for anyone who had similar experiences of moving form up north to Nassau and what you did as far as shipping your furniture, etc. I realize that most places come furnished but we want our things to come along with us. We are in a one bedroom in manhattan that is 650 sq ft but packed with things. Was hoping for any info you could provide, thanks!
