Marriage

I did have one last question-- if my boyfriend and I were to get married I hear its not guaranteed that I would be approved for a work permit, I even heard that one person has been married for 7 years to a Bahamian and still unable to be approved for a work permit. Does anyone know anything about this? I thought spouses were automatically granted work permits??
