early twenties and new to the bahamas

Hello all,
I just moved to Paradisr Island with my job as a stewardess on a yacht. Right now the boat is not being used so the only crew are me and the captain, who is a lot older than me (in his fifties), we are also docked behind the owner's estate instead of at a marina so I haven't had much opportunity to meet people. As a young female I'm nervous to go our by myself in unfamiliar territory at night. I'd like to make some friends to explore and have fun with. I enjoy going out, the beach, watersports, shopping, sightseeing, etc. Just figure I'd see if there were any other newbies, or not newbies, who'd like to get together for a drink or something, or if anyone had any advice on places to meet and make friends with other young locals.
