I am very interested in relocating to the Bahamas from the US but don't know where to start. I am an independent contractor and work mostly online via email or phone so I would not be moving to the Bahamas to work there.
Many questions I am hoping someone can answer.
-When seeking residency and proving economical independence, what is the process? And where does one begin with this process?
-I would really like a simple "bungalow" or "cottage" close to the beach, simple living. I prefer the "escape" vs "luxury". Suggestions as to areas to look for rentals?
-Based on 1-2 bedrooms, what should I expect as far as monthly costs for a safe yet simple place in a good location?
I am not opposed to being in a smaller or outlying area (island) if that would be a better option- just looking for insider advice.
What other things should I consider when looking into my options?
