Visa Process

Hiya
My family and I will be moving to Nassau soon. And I’m wondering about visa process. I understand that most everything is done “Island time”, however we sent out visa application and all applicable documents to our visa contact two weeks ago (all scanned documents). We have yet to hear back from her regarding anything. We haven’t been told if we should send the original documents via Courier (and how long that would take). It was made very clear that our medical certificates should not be more than 30 days old at the time of application. By now those docs are 17 days old and she hasn’t yet told us if our documents are all in order or if she has im fact started the application process. Anyway, my question is: once we arrive in Nassau I’m Tourist Visas (Because she initially told my husband that we would and then it would be converted into residence permits), do we need to get medicals done on the ground as well in order to get our residence permits?
TIA
