Cell Service Recommendations

We are preparing for our relocation to Grand Bahama late Fall 2023 and are trying to decide on which cell service works the best there. When we visit there we notice both AT&T (my husband's work cell) and Verizon (mine) have apps that don't work reliably. Not sure if switching the SIM card out for a local one would help that?
Any other suggestions for expats who keep their home country's cell service while living on the island?

Also, our builder has suggested a camera or security system - thoughts on this? We hasn't really thought about that since, coming from Atlanta, we feel A LOT safer there than we do here at home!

Would welcome any other advice for recent retirees who have relocated to the Bahamas.
