Sand Fleas

We are looking to move to Latin America. A beach community where other expats live is one of our options so we are considering Belize. But a lot of our research indicates that many (or all?) of the beaches on the mainland and in the cayes are infested with sand fleas. We hate sand fleas! What can anyone say about the sand flea situation in Belize? We are especially interested in the Corozal area. Thanks!
