Children and Elderly

Hello everyone! We are considering Belize as our next country of residence, possibly in the Corozal District. We are finding it difficult to get clear information about schools for our three children, primary and secondary level. Are Belizean diplomas recognized by U.S. universities for instance? Is the level of education satisfactory? Also, should my aged parents come with us (over 85, both have extensive experience living overseas) are there appropriate care facilities for them if needed? These are the two major issues for us, any information would be greatly appreciated.
