Elevated locations

We live in Volcán, Panama; a place at an elevation of about 1,400m (4.600 feet) and enjoy a wonderful climate. It would be the paradise if our spanish skills were not so bad and the progress to acquiring it so slow. Looking around several sources ther is a lot told about the beach areas but as good as nothing about the highlands.

Why is that so? I would love to have a contact in Belize that would be knowledgable about those areas. And naturally if there is a reason why no one writes about those areas like

> The Mountain Pine Ridge area in the Cayo District of western Belize. This area is part of the Maya Mountains and rises to over 3000 feet above sea level. The higher elevation results in cooler temperatures, especially at night.
> The Cockscomb Basin in the Stann Creek District of south-central Belize. This is a wildlife sanctuary and reserve located in the foothills of the Maya Mountains. The elevation ranges from 500-3,675 feet.
> The Toledo District in southern Belize. This area is more mountainous with elevations reaching up to 3,675 feet. The inland areas tend to be cooler than the coastal areas.
> The Orange Walk District in northern Belize. While not as high in elevation, this area can see cooler temperatures during the winter months when cold fronts pass through from North America.
> The offshore cayes such as Ambergris Caye and Caye Caulker can also have cooler breezes much of the year due to the moderating effects of the ocean winds and waters.

Any information is very much appreciated!
