U.S. verse Brazil marrage?

Sure happy to have stumbled across this social forum!

The situation is this: Last year I spent six months traveling though out all of the biomes in major cities in Brazil while studying conservation Biology. I also spent a month of that time working for a small conservation non-profit. What I mean to say is that I feel that I am fairly culture, immersed in the culture and speak moderate Portuguese. Unexpectedly, I by mistake found someone I would truly like to spend my life with. He's Brazilian.

We have spent the last year in constant long-distance contact and he has planned a lengthy first visit to the U.S. at the end of the year. Over our time apart we have done substantial research regarding the benefits and drawbacks, as well as the overall procedure of marriage in both countries. Essential we would like to be able to be together with the ability to move between the countries in the future.
I have drawn the conclusion that to actually have the wedding here in the U.S. we will have to make a well-documented specific case of our relationship, when asking the consulate for a fiance visa. Letters, pictures and various other documentation. Any advice as to if this is accurate? Assuming the visa is granted, and the marriage takes place in the states, would I then return with him to Brazil to apply for citizenship?

Unrelated, but other questions that have arisen: I would like to eventually enroll in a graduate program in Brazil, and my Portuguese is fluent). I'm also considering not waiting. I am aware that the Brazilian education system works very differently then that in the States. Perhaps, someone here might know if their is financial benefits to enrolling after Brazilian citizenship is gained? Or perhaps their is benefit to enrolling as a foreigner? I'm sure the particular specifications of the desired university are also a factor worth considering... hummm....
