Setting up a Business in Brazil

I came across your website while I was doing some research on Brazil. I live in London, but am planning on moving to Brazil with the hope to open a beach bar.

I have a Holiday planned for April to check out a few towns/cities of interest, but at the moment I'm mainly looking at Pipa.

From what I have read online, it seems opening a business a big risk and involves a lot of red tape, so have considered getting into the property market first to get my foot in the door, then perhaps later on down the line try to get a beach bar open.

I'm not looking to make millions, I am looking for a better quality of life in a sunny climate. I DJ for a living and have over ten years nightclub/bar experience so am confident if I did open this type of business I would make it work, I am just a bit concerned with the Bureaucracy and cost.

If I bought a Holiday property to start (rather than try for the bar) Is there solid rental returns on holiday rentals or would I run the risk of having an unoccupied apartment/villa.

I've been researching online solidly for about a year now, and really want to get the ball rolling.

any tips and advise would be fantastic

Cheers

Dave
