Greetings,
I will be moving to Rio for a 6 month internship beginning in May 2011. I would like to know more about the possible living arrangements. I would really prefer to live with a local so I can practice the language and be able to have a good resource.
Do they have room shares in Rio? Here in the states there are plenty of rooms that are rented out, and the tenant pays a set rent and the utilities are covered. I would prefer not to have to get utilities set up, seeing as I am only going to be there for 6 months. Do you know the avg. cost of this type of arrangement?
Also, can someone give me their opinion on whether of not R2500 per month is a decent amount of money to live on? If not, based on the cost of living, what would you say would be a decent amount per month. I currently do not have an extravagant life style, and do not plan to have one while I'm there, but I would like to experience the culture.
Thanks so much!
