Permanent Visa Questions..

Hello,

I am a US Citizen who has been married to a Brazilian Citizen for about 1 year. We got married in the United States and are also living there. I am thinking about applying for a Permanent Visa while still living in the United States because it would allow me to get RN#, open a bank account, health care and various other things we want to do in Brazil . Eventually, we might move to Brazil but not for at least a few years. I have heard that for the Permanent Visa not to expire, we must not be out of Brazil for over 2 consecutive years. So I am thinking if we go every other year, this will be ok.

Anyway, I am trying to find out if anybody else out there has tried something like this or if anybody has any alternate suggestions?

Thank you.
