Just moved to Brazil

My husband and I just moved to Brazil. We have been here for a very short period of time. We need to find an apartment or house to RENT between 3 months - 1 year (whatever we can get). Our choices are between Florianopolis (currently here now), then Balneario Camboriu, then Rio de Janiero. The biggest help we need is to look at a place in FLORIPA first or at the very least speak to someone who can help us find something. Also, any leads in Balneario or Rio are much appreciated! I speak Spanish pretty well so it's not too hard to have a solid conversation, but when talking/negotiating about real estate we really need an English speaker. I have contacted an immoveis company here in Floripa, looked in local listings in newspaper and searched online but every option is either not what we want or is way too expensive. Our wants are:
- Close to the beach in a nice area
- Safe
- Less than $2,500 Reais per month
- Preferably already furnished

We are heading into high season which makes it almost impossible to rent monthly until March of 2015. Is there ANYWHERE we can rent that will charge a reasonable amount (maximum of $2,500 Reais per month??). Thank you so much for ANY help you could give!! Muito Obrigada!!!
