Spiders

Hi all, I know this may seem trivial to some but we are moving to a village outside VT this summer and I have a real issue with spiders, give me snakes or rats and I have no problem but spiders are another story!
I am concerned more with the house spiders that may turn up rather than the garden sorts. Please can you give me your experiences, any any problems you may have encountered.
