Residency- non-EU citizen

Howdy, folks.

38 yr. old American here.

I would like to get a D visa and then ultimately permanent residency in Bulgaria.

I don’t have an official (employment) pension but I do make $3,000/mo. off of my investments.

Does anyone know if that would suffice as a ‘pension’? If it wouldn’t, what’s the next best way to establish residency?
