mature single woman seeking work abroad

im a bahamian citizen was born in the bahamas. i read recently that there were shortages of workers in alberta, calgary and edmonton and would like to know if (1) this is fact (2) anyone has info on this and (3) what is the procedure and length of time for processing someone outside of canada.
