American Retiree's Looking to buy a townhome in PEI.

Hi,

My wife and I recently retired and are thinking about buying a townhome or condominium in Prince Edward Island. My grandfather and his brothers came from there in the mid 1920's. My wife and I have visited several times and would like to live there. However, we do not meet the government's requirements to live there as fulltime residents.

From our research it appears we would only be allowed to live there for six months of every year.

We have no problem leaving, but is it an absolute six months!

If we came back sooner than six months would Canada customs turn us around at the border.

That is our main concern. We have our own healthcare so that would not be an issue.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
