Moving in July or August to Santiago.

Hi everyone. My name is Nick. My wife is Catalina. I am a 25 y/o native born USA country man. She is 23 and a native born Ecuador country woman.
Her paperwork has expired for her to be in the USA and we have decided Chile is a better option for us. I have already accepted a possition, starting in August, to be an english teacher at an institute. I know a lot of people have done this in the past and would be appreciative of any words of knowledge you may be able to provide. Also, if you could give us any pointers on places in Santiago that are good to go and some areas that a new expat, such as ourselves, sould try to avoid.
