Relocation and Temporary Visa to Chile

Hi All,

I am looking to relocate to Santiago, Chile in around ~March 2017.
I would like to apply for the 1 year temporary residence Visa from within Chile in the Santiago Area.

A few facts about my self:
Citizen: India
Residency: USA (Greencard)
Background: STEM (Software Engineer)
A 30 day multiple entry* tourist Visa to Chile expiring in 90 days from issue date of Dec 20. 2016. (*I just visited Santiago and Patagonia area and loved it)

Once I relocate, I will no longer be employed but I do have´ savings that can show financial self sustenance.

1. What is the best category for me to apply for the 1 year temporary residency Visa ? (Age: Early 30's)
http://www.extranjeria.gob.cl/ingles/clasif_visa_temp.html

2. Once I arrive, I will have a 30 day Tourist card, should I first extend my tourist card AND/OR also apply for the Temporary 1 year Visa.

3. What documents should I bring with me for the Temporary 1 year Visa.
?

4. While my application for temporary residency Visa is in progress can I leave and enter the country even if my tourist Visa is expired ?

Thanks
