Are there any US citizens familiar with the visa process that can give me suggestions. I'm moving from US to Chile in 4 months to join my who is a Chilean citizen and was deported. I am moving our household goods there by container. In order to not have to pay tax on the value of the first $5,000 I need a work or temp resident visa. Can't I go on a temp visa? Or do I have to have a job with a contract? The visa cost $580. Can I move our things there and just pay the import tax? So many tings to consider and so much information. Who has experienced this?
