Moving from Quito to Bogota

My husband (Ecuadorian) and I (American) are considering moving to Bogota soon. My husbands mother is Colombian, does anyone know if that will help us in obtaining residency or where to find the information about Colombian residency?

What are the job prospects like for a young American female in Bogota? I have already done the teaching route here in Quito and don't really want to continue with that. I would rather work in business since that is what I studied in college. What should I expect salary wise? My husband already has a job lined up.

Are there any great locations to purchase a hobby farm within 1-3 hours of Bogota?
