Colombia information please

Greetings. I am planning another trip to Colombia to check into the options of location. My Fiance lives in Pereria however I would like to maybe move her to the Bogota area as the flights to Pereria are pretty time consuming. I lived in Bogota Candaleria area for three months in 2003.

So, if anyone has some input on a safe fairly reasonable area in Bogota I would appreciate in advance your thoughts. I am retired and also will be commuting back and forth for a year or two. I believe rents around $600 would be my comfort level. I don't need info. on the cost of living as to me it is all relevant to my lifestyle. Thank you.
