I read every ones posts on cmorr's site here, and it is an amazing thing keeping an open mind about the how, where, and when it is best to do anything that pays for everything needed during a month here in Colombia. 5 million poor people can be a close estimate. All that they need in Bogota has to come from somewhere doesn't it, and it has to equal the time, effort, and money used to be creditable, profitable? hmmm. I am currently in Ibague for 2 months until Christmas and I am helping a family with as much as I can out of my own pocket in return for joining them in daily activities. and learning Spanish, while doing as much as possible closer to home. Farmers are up in protest about business as usual, since there products are competing with more foreign goods being imported. I think that most people here realize when the ROOF is going to fall in on them, And all the natural resources will never solve the problems of this economy, that's why these people are more happy being on the poor side of things, they just know that in the long run it is going to hurt them. Time, and place are at issue in the here, and now, and all the resources are better left alone where they naturally occur. OK you all, this is my twist on life here. Remember I am not a resident, but I would like to give it a try one day soon.
