Baranquilla Mums group

Hi all,
Im the wife of a Colombian, from the UK, living in Gibraltar. We have a 5yr old daughter whom has just started reception class at school.
Iv major concerns re the potential health risks living in Gibraltar, Im a nurse here and the cancer rates are very scary! Hence do not think this is the place for us long term.
My husband would move back to Barabquilla tomorrow if I gave the green light! I do not want to move back to the UK but not 100% sure about the move over to Colombia!
Should we move to Colombia, We already have accomidation, my husband has a good job to walk into (will be there indefinetly) but I would not be able to nurse there. Thats not all bad as I could be a ful time Mum, a dream id never be able to realise in Gib or the UK but I worry about giving up a degree of my independence. My spanish is coming along in leaps and bounds living here in Gib but Iv still along way to go.
We have my husbands family there whom I am very close to and enjoy their company. I have no concerns re the schools there (Prob Marymount (?sp)).
Im quite well travelled (used to work on cruise ships) and am used to the ex pat lifestyle. Is there much of an expat community in Baranquilla?
Before I make this decision I want to get a feel for how I could build a life outside the family there with out working?!?!
Previously Iv had work to fall back on and social aspects followed. Then there was Mum and tot groups where friendships still lasting have been made.
Does anyone know of such groups? Or made the move in similar circumstances to mine?
