From today's news,
DIAN
Due to the constant non-payment of taxes by many Colombians and the updating of their data, the Directorate of National Taxes and Customs (DIAN) reported that, from now on, and for three days of each month, it will carry out facilitation visits and control to 500 taxpayers.

During the visits, the entity hopes to verify the status of tax obligations and will accompany and guide taxpayers in aspects such as collection, inspection, guidance on issues of the Single Tax Registry (RUT), Single Registry of Beneficiaries (RUB), Simple Regime of Taxation (RST) and Electronic Invoice.

That is why the authorities call on Colombians to verify that the visits are actually authorized DIAN officials, to prevent criminals from taking advantage of the situation and end up defrauding taxpayers with false information.

On the other hand, the purpose of the entity with the visits is to recover close to half a billion pesos owed by the taxpayers who have been selected for the visits.

As reported by the entity, the actions will focus on specific areas of each city, where groups of taxpayers will be addressed, according to selection criteria of a social, economic and demographic nature; this in order to promote compliance with the obligations of citizens, as well as to publicize what

It will be interesting to follow this story. Five hundred per month is a small number; but, it may create an avalanche. The article indicates that Colombian's will be visited; but, it will be interesting to see if any expats are caught up in the sweep.
