Issuance of Cedula and Passport

Well, we finally had a good outcome with the Houston Consulate. My daughter recently turned 18 so she had to apply for a cedula and a new passport. Other than making the appointment to apply for said documents, the process was easy. There is a "new" consulate web site that is not referenced on the old website. BUT, when you do actually get to the correct website and attempt to make an appointment nothing happens... unless you are attempting to make the appointment online between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. which would be fine IF they told you this in some way or fashion.

The only way my wife was able to get the correct website was to actually drive an hour to the consulate, pull a ticket, wait for your turn, and then be belittled because you didn't make an on line appointment. Then return home and make the appointment and return the next day.

Once you know the drill it is eazy peazy. Daughter got her cedula issued electronically in a matter of a few minutes with the physical cedula to arrive in a few weeks. She also was able to apply for her "adult" passport as the previous one became invalid when she turned eighteen.

Maybe we will try again for the migrant visa via wife or child.
