Before you are a migrant 'irregular''

in Colombia apply for a 'Salvo Conducto' also known as an SC-2, for a 30 day legal stay, using your passport information if! you are working on your visa application. That is a requirement!
Before! your SC-2 expires, apply for a 'prorroga', or extensions (plural) of the existing SC-2 if needed.
The cost for each one is about $20.
You must remain legal in the country during the entire visa process.

Mark the salvo conducto box, select the nearest Migration office, enter your personal information, a copy of your main passport page and you will receive an authorization number in your email immediately.
Print the page, take it to your migration office with your passport before! the SC-2 expiration date and get an appointment .
Remember when weekend and holiday dates apply.

LA countries are clamping down on illegal migrants now and deport them, which would ban them from entering for the next five years.
Neighboring Perú is in the news again. Yesterday was the deadline for getting temporary stay permits in the country and today hundreds if not thousands illegals are rounded up and deported, mostly Venezuelans and other foreigners.
