drivers license

I am a good driver and have negotiated the streets of Cali during my two visits this year. I also drove to Medellin and back. It is my understanding my US driver's license will be voided when I get my marriage visa and cedula.

My Spanish is poor, and I am intimidated by what I read about the process of procuring a Colombian license. Should I relax, or am I rightly hesitant?
