This a practical non political.post for Canadians.
Redeban ( and probsbly Creditbank as well) datafonos stoped accepting Canadian Fintec cards for vendor purchases. Card get blocked after.several steps.
Doesnt make any difference whether a Wealth Simple or EQ Bank card and I assume it is the same for any other precharged Fintech card .
You can still take cash out of the ATM at Visa/ MC rates on the Canadian/ intermediary end with these cards , but Davavienda now charges about 32 mil per withdrawal ( and I bet it continues rising) and you are límited to $500 CAD or 1.5 mil per withdrawal..I assume its a similar story with withdrawals at.other bank ATMs.
Normal Visa/MC credit cards from the big six banks are OK for vendor purchased but you get charged 2.5% per transaction.
Scotia bank have several normal credit cards that dont charge fees on their end, but you have to be physically in Canada to get them, and I dont plan to go back for quite awhile, probably at least a year..
Looks like I will have to rely on Remitly transfers to Colombian bank accounts for next little while, with all the inherent and continueing problems.
