I have been living in Ajijic, Mexico, since I retired from California in Feb 2021. I had previously struck up a relationship with a Colombian woman from Villavivencio, Colombia, and she flew to Los Angeles (she has a Netherlands and Colombian passport) and we drove to Mexico together. We married in Las Vegas in May 2023. I had visited Villavicencio several times before that and decided that I didn't want to stay 3 months at a time in Villavicencio. So we visited her cousin in Silvania during our November trip to Colombia and bought a beautiful, large 4 bedroom house in the Los Alpes condominio. For 650,000 pesos. We are in a valley in the Andes mountains, 5000 ft elevation. The weather here is 60f low and 75f high all year round.. Only 2 other Americans/Canadians in town. I just want to recommend this area to couples who can speak Spanish.
