Hola a todos. In the USA, bank accounts are at least hypothetically insured for $250,000.00 by FDIC. (Not that you would necessarily be able to collect, but at least they are nominally or hypothetically insured for that amount.)
In contrast, Colombian bank accounts are hypothetically nominally insured for something like $50M COP (@ $11,480.99 USD) by FOGAFIN.
It is a long story but if one hypothetically wants to keep more than $50M COP liquid cash in country, what does one do? Take out a number of bank accounts?
Or is there a better liquid alternative than several bank accounts?
Gracias.
