President Gustavo Petro has not been invited to the swearing in of the next American president. In fact a consiliatory letter he sent to that person congratulating him was ignored. Not surprisingly the far right wing senadora Maria Cabal was invited she reports. Colombia has an enormous economic dependency on the US so as an American expatriate long time resident of Colombia there is concern about the effects of the new American administration on future relations with Colombia. That said there are major issues with drug trafficking, migration and Venezuela that the new US administration will need to address with President Petro hopefully with positive outcomes for both countries,
