Arriving From Colombia

An American friend of mine makes frequent trips to the US from Colombia. He has the Global Entry permit which facilitates expedited clearance through customs. However upon his arrival in the US two weeks ago when it was noted that he arrived from Colombia he was pulled out of the Global Entry line and moved to another where he was subjected to extensive questioning. This treatment apparently results from continuing grievance from the riferafe between Trump and Petro. So much for Global Entry. It would be interesting to have feedback from anyone else who has traveled to the US from Colombia recently.
