Spare some advice...

Hi All,
I am interested in teaching english in costa Rica, (San Juan area) but, more so taking the time to focus on what I want rather than what family and society thinks I should be doing. I have recently returned from Spain where I was studying spanish for 3 months. Since returning to NY things are back to usual esp. frustration finding work and unsupportive closed mentality. I want to learn to speak spanish fluently and acheiving it in the states seems like forever. Costa Rica was my 2nd choice to learn spainsh, but, since I want to stay abroard longer I figured I could teach english (to make $$to support myself). Could any ex-pat living in Costa Rica or any other person with some insight advise me on how I may go about working in CR. From what I heard Spain is quite hard to obtain work esp. being an american. Is it difficult in CR? Many thanks to all.. It's easy making these decisions when your in your early 20s, it's especially hard when your older!
