Do you need to Rent first??

I hear this comment all the time on this forum and as much as it may suit some people it certainly is not a LAW---some folks tend to only look through their glasses and expect everyone else to need to see things the same way. I for one am the perfect example--I KNEW I wanted to live in Costa Rica with my wife and her family here. I KNEW I was going to make our business here at Grand View Estates work. Was that based on anything else someone else did or said? No--I make my own reality and really don't care what anyone else says. Especially since 80% of the people approach life in a different way than I do. It really comes down to this--If you think you can or you think you can't, you are right!! I purchased my Tico house SIGHT UNSEEN, and yes I had to do some work on it when I arrived. So what? We also turned a cow pasture into one of the nicest projects I have seen in this country--and YES, we had plenty of people tell us we were crazy. We did however base our risk on certain factors we felt were important. One of them being CAFTA which did pass as we expected. To make a long story short--don't listen to the naysayers the whiners the complainers or the timid. That is their reality and let them have it! Do what YOUR heart tells you to do and if you make a mistake?? So what! We all end up at the same moment at one point ---do you want to hear at that moment that you have arrived SAFELY at death??
Heck we love Thai food and diving--if we feel like it some day we may pick up and give it a try and I won't base that decision on anyone else's play it safe philosophy! I hand out a sheet at my training's that shows you how many days you have left--based on the average age of 79--I can tell you what, look at that and see if it does not wake you up!
