Costa Rica Cheap??

There is more to living than living cheap---like I said before Haiti has some great bargains if you are looking for cheap as being your priority (from my friend Steve!). To me and being part of the families and culture here for 12 years+ it is more about quality of life and nice people.

One of the reasons why I am involved in Mental Toughness Training on both a corporate and personal level is that it is important that you don't let yourself just follow the masses and actually think the governments and everything else is responsible for your well being and always complain how everything outside yourself determines your life results.

I just came back from a conference where I spoke to almost 1,000 people and the saddest thing I saw was people who did not take care of themselves financially and for whatever reason got to their 60's and 70's and are dependent on social security! Social Security was never meant to be a full retirement package. To hear people looking forward to a 3.5% cost of living raise is just plain sad. I fully understand that when you get to that age and try to fix your financial future it can be very difficult to say the least.

The best thing I noticed at the show was that younger people in their 20's and 30's are getting wise to the fact that their future lies in THEIR hands and they are thinking outside the box and taking care of themselves and their future.

Makes no difference if Costa Rica is the place for you or Belize or whatever--the important point that I see is we better think critically about our future and don't be like so many folks who constantly complain how the government is screwing them over-that will not make one bit of difference in your future.

Sure it is one thing to look at things and not like them but we can't let those factors---which we cannot control--effect our futures.

I do have empathy for some of the folks here on the forum who are obviously discontent with their life choices and the results their choices have produced in their lives but to blame Obama or Reagan or Bush is a very clear waste of brain power which would be better used in assessing our futures and making choices that will enhance our later years.

I do see the outlook of folks in general improving over what I have noticed over the last couple years and that is great to see. Moving anywhere and taking a negative outlook and dismal monthly income will not make life better for us--because wherever we go---there we are!

Rather, we need to take control of our mind and intellects and surround ourselves with like minded folks.
