Safety in Costa Rica and Flare guns

Walking the dog tonight and I was thinking---So, we wear bike helmets, seat belts, safety glasses, safety shoes, reflective vests, leather gloves---why, because getting hurt can take only seconds or minutes and no one will be there to help in time! Anyone can easily look up the fact that most shootings/assaults are started and finished in a matter of minutes. It is up to us to protect ourselves so why would we be foolish enough to think the police will be there to help? Makes no logical sense does it?
Protecting ourselves today we can no longer say it is our manly duty, there are some fantastic women shooters out there! So it is our manly and womanly duty to protect ourselves and our family. If you live in San Jose or Heredia and look at the crime stats it would behoove anyone living there in the cities to do the right thing and protect themselves. And that goes for any city anywhere. I mentioned being personally proficient with firearms and bows---but if most folks use those weapons it is still very possible to just hit the assailant and have them continue forward to do you harm. That is why anyone intelligent enough to understand the basics in life should be able to grasp the concept of the very very effective way in which a simple boating type flare gun can help in an attack! If someone who tries to attack you and suddenly has hot molten phosphorus burning through their skin I can assure you they will not be continuing forward but looking for the first puddle, horse trough or pond to jump into! So for those who may not be in a position to own a firearm or take the time to be proficient with its use the simple flair gun will be a legal and easy way to make sure you do the most minimum of your human duty and that is to protect yourself and your family--and of course those around us to liberal or lazy to do it themselves. Hey they need someone to count on! AND--for the bleeding hearts you will not be killing the poor little thing who just tried to kill you---you can go visit him in the hospital and talk them out of their evil ways!
