Costa Rica Travel Recommendations

Hi Friends,

My husband and I came to Costa Rica for 9 days in 2019. We used Anywhere Travel, visited Arenal, Monteverde and Manual Antonio. It was fantastic.

We're now seriously thinking of relocating to C.R. when we finally retire in a couple of years. We're 73 but run a seasonal business in Arizona. We and another couple (who have never been there) want to come on a scouting trip in February for 10 days to two weeks. We want them to see the highlights but also we'd like to get a better feel of where we might like to live.

One day shopping, I met a U.S. citizen who lives in Samara part of the year and and teaches. She gave me her card, saying she would be happy to help with suggestions for our trip.

Though I consider myself very well organized, I lost her card!

So now I come to you and ask for your suggestions. We'd like our trip to be more eco-minded than the Anywhere Travel trip. We are all outdoorsy types so we'd like to see national parks, wildlife refuges, night walks... Assuming there will be some free time involved, we'd like to arrange a fishing trip for the guys and spa day for us girls. Us girls like to kayak too. We ziplined last time and I think our friends would like that experience.

Our budget is about $2,000 per person.

If your (new-ha ha) friends were coming to Costa Rica, what would you want them to know, do, see for a great experience?

I know it's a big ask. I am very grateful for your assistance.
