First trip in August to assess Costa Rica!

1) Never been to Costa Rica! I am thinking of using San Jose as a base and then exploring various parts of the country over 2-3 months while working remotely.

2) Are there recommended neighborhoods in San Jose I should stay in to get a sense of how I feel about them for a longer stay? On this first three-month trip in August, I'll do Airbnb (need solid Wifi) and was thinking one week at a place in the most recommended areas. Thoughts on that strategy

3) I'd like to also go to at least one Pacific coast and one Caribbean cost destination - and one in the mountains - would also be Airbnb and Wifi is important
