Buying Property and Transferring law license

I am considering buying a small piece of property in Tortugero. My first thought is to request a copy of the current deed, consider hiring a realtor and surveyor to ensure the lines of the property and ownership. Any advise or pitfalls to avoid?

I am currently a practicing attorney in the US and am hoping to take my law degree and/or license to CR to transition to practicing down there. Does anyone have experience in transferring/ transitioning as a practicing attorney? I would love some advise.

Lastly, my partner wants to become a vet. I am unsure what it might take in order to do this in costa rica. I haven't done a lot of research on this topic yet but if anyone can point us in the right direction I would be most appreciative.
