Hi this is Irish Bo, an American living in Cuenca, Ecuador.
The Irish part, is the EU Irish Passport I have thanks to my Blessed Mother.
I read it is reasonable to live in Czechia? However, I explored some of the rental costs and found what I have here in Ecuador for $400 a month, is almost THREE TIMES what I currently pay here in Ecuador!
My apartment is a Two Bedroom with One and a half Baths, located in the Expat Sector, and is called, "Gringolandia."
The building is next to the Five Star Hotel, "Oro Verde."
A flowered balcony overlooks the Tomabomba River.
A few questions for you.
Would my EU, Irish Passport have any substance in reducing Rental Costs for a Long Term Lease of a Furnished two bedroom apartment?
My Healthcare would be provided under the EU Blue Card System.
Perhaps I could live outside of the Major Cities of Central Bohemia, South Moravia, or Pardubice? As long as bus transportation is available? The above Regions seemed to score high in English speakers?
A little Cottage, or carriage house outside of the Vacation and Commuter Areas, may reduce rental costs, and be less than housing in the cities?
As a, "Non Smoker", just how bad is this in the Republic?
Are there individuals who act as, "Facilitators", in assisting Expats for a fee, with my particular situation?
I read the Czech's are extremely Rude!
Three Important considerations which concern me.
* Rental Costs, Rude People and Smoking Everywhere !
Thank you for any insight or contribution you might add for my inquiry.
Sincerely,
"Bo"
