Again, in Spanish...Ecuador and Colombia have mutually reaffirmed the establishment of diplomatic relations. Folks, just for the record, if you are English speaking and wonder why more doesn't get posted in English...so do I. Allow me to explain. I don't consider a two sentence AP wire blurb to be "news coverage". Personally, unless it is something urgent and I lack *any* other source, I will avoid posting such generally unconfirmed wire stories. So...the question that does get begged..."Why do Western press sources devote such little attention to positive developments in South America...while devoting front page coverage to narco-trafficking [said product mostly consumed in the U.S.]? Wish I had the answer...but it does make me go...hmmmmmm. When it changes, maybe I can post more credible data in English for all to access. You *can* get such data for a very high cost in English...but not generally accessible by the masses. Pointing towards links that are not accessible (except by subscription), hardly seems to make sense. Fwiw...this story begs another observation. Just a few weeks ago, various sources were postulating that Ecuador was trying to goad Colombia into a military conflict, dancing on the strings of the Chavez puppet-master. Wonder where those sources will be now...and how they will "spin" this new development to be part of a hidden Machiavellian plot? Like I say...be ever vigil...and...always ...wait for facts and confirmation.
