Books and the New Kindle

My husband and I will be moving to Cuenca in September 2010. We are avid readers, and noticed that new, current books in English were hard to come by, or if found were expensive... even the used ones. We were very excited to find that the new Kindle ebook reader will work in Ecuador. Does anyone on this forum have one and if so how does it work for you? thanks!
